The BG “True Centre Hold” Dummy – 1lb

Designed by Ben Randall of Begggarbush Gundogs and Sporting Saint Associate.

To help your gundog achieve a true central hold on the dummy.

With so many dummies available in various colours, designs, and shapes, I’ve used them all — and I find the BG True Hold truly stands out from the rest.

Red is one of the most difficult colours for dogs to see, whereas yellow is among the easiest. When I roll a yellow tennis ball along the ground, the dog immediately spots, locates, and locks onto it. So, when the red BG True Hold dummy is thrown and lands, it presents a clear, natural visual target, encouraging the dog to pick it up centrally.

The more a dog learns to pick up a dummy from the centre and maintain balance, the more it becomes second nature. Once this habit is formed, your dog will consistently retrieve dummies, game, and other objects with a true central hold.
